About

Cheng Ian Buddhist Nunnery (Cheng Ian Tong) is located at the intersection of Rua da Praia do Manduco and Rua Nova, which is also the location of the Cheng Ian Buddhist Charity Association. It is of traditional Chinese architectural style, a 1x3-grid layout, with a gabled roof and 2-storey height. There is a patio between the first and second room. The nunnery looks as simple as an ordinary residence without any grand ornaments, literally alike its Chinese name — a quietly (Cheng) hidden (Ian) nunnery (Tong) among the residence.
